The N31 is the direct connection between Amsterdam and Leeuwarden over the Afsluitdijk and Harlingen. This road is re-created in order to improve the accessibility of the province Friesland. Moreover, the new road is safer and provides better flow of traffic in and around Harlingen. The new N31 is a highway with twice two lanes and is largely to be deepened.
Haitsma Beton will deliver ± 8,800 precast piles for the new N31.
Beginning 2016 Haitsma Beton started deliveries of piles. It is expected that the last piles are supplied in early 2017.
